LEGO stores and toy shops
Dedicated LEGO stores in the big malls are the place to see new sets in person. Toy chains and department stores carry the popular kids' themes, like City, Friends, NINJAGO and Marvel. Both are great when you need a gift today. What you won't find there are sets LEGO has stopped making, and adult sets can be thin on the shelves.
Amazon and Noon
Both sell a lot of LEGO and deliver fast. Check who the seller is before you buy, because listings from third-party sellers vary. Also watch the search results: "building block" sets from copy brands often appear next to real LEGO, with similar pictures and much lower prices.
Specialist online stores
This is where you'll find the biggest range: current sets, sets that are retiring soon, and retired sets that have left the shops. At Brickmak we have over 300 LEGO sets in stock, every one new and factory sealed, including retired favourites like Assembly Square and the Technic Bugatti Chiron.
How to spot fake LEGO
- Check the studs: every genuine LEGO stud has the word LEGO moulded on top. This is the single best test.
- Check the box: real boxes show the LEGO logo, a set number, an age rating and the piece count. Copies use similar-sounding names and blurry or altered images.
- Check the price: a large set at a fraction of the usual price is almost always a copy.
- Check the feel: genuine bricks click together firmly and come apart cleanly. Copies are often too tight, too loose, or slightly off in colour.
- Check the minifigures: real minifigures have crisp printing, and the stud on top of the head carries the LEGO logo.
Buying a retired set
When LEGO retires a set, it disappears from shops and sealed boxes get harder to find. If you're buying one, make sure the box is sealed and undamaged, and that the seller takes returns. Read our guide to retiring LEGO sets to see which sets are on their way out.
